Does a Chinese citizen require visa for visiting Vietnam?

Citizens of China are required visa for entering Vietnam.

Under a government directive released in January 2017, citizens from 40 countries will be eligible to apply for the e-visa (30 days, single entry), including citizens of China (please note that Chinese e-Passport holder is NOT eligible for e-visa of Vietnam – passport number begin with “E”), therefore, Chinese passport holders who is eligible can apply for e-visa at the official website of the government.

From Jan 2017, the Government of Vietnam has officially launched e-visa application at the website site, until now, citizens of 40 countries, including citizens of China can apply for e-visa at the official website of the government. There is an exception that is Chinese e-Passport holder (passport number begin with “E”) is NOT eligible to apply for e-visa.
